Mr. Amarquaye Oritsegbemi Martey

Amarquaye Oritsegbemi Martey holds BSc and MSc degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Leicester and Bath Universities, England. 

He joined Shell in 1978 and worked in various capacities in Nigeria and The Netherlands. During his sojourn in Shell, Amarquaye was actively involved in and responsible for the evaluation of majority of fields and wells in the western region of Delta State, that creditably increased the reserves base through the use of leading edge technologies. Notably, during his secondment to Shell Research and Technical Services, Netherlands, he developed a Log Analysis program for Gas and Light Oil discrimination in the Niger Delta depositional belts. 

In 2000, Amarquaye joined Addax Petroleum and managed the subsurface team that ramped up the company's production levels by many folds. He served in various capacities as Head Petrophysics, Asset Manager, Technical Studies Manager and his last appointment was as General Manager, Asset Management. In this role, he was accountable for the business plan for all assets with the aim of maximising asset values in line with the company's corporate strategic objectives, whilst adhering to government regulatory policies. He also optimised the utilisation and capacity of existing facilities together with the development of new facilities, including development drilling, and development of nearby satellite opportunities and increased production and reserves base. Amarquaye is a renowned astute Petrohysicist and has published several papers. He belongs to a charitable Cancer Research Organisation. 

He is currently the Head Subsurface in Midwestern Oil and Gas Company Ltd.
