Universal Education

Midwestern Oil and Gas recognizes the critical importance of education in unlocking the creative and developmental potential of any society. To support this belief, the company channels a percentage of its social investment into the education sector in its host communities and Delta State. Some of the key initiatives Midwestern has implemented to promote education include:

  • Constructed and furnished classroom blocks in host communities using local contractors and materials to improve access to education.
  • Offering full academic scholarships to children of host communities and Delta State, covering tuition fees, and living expenses for deserving university and secondary school students.
  • The scholarship is renewed annually for students who maintain academic excellence.
  • Aiming to promote academic excellence and improve skill-based education among youths through the scholarship program.

Constructed Classroom Blocks

In line with its commitment to contribute to the economic development of its host communities via improved access to education amongst other things, the company constructed the school using the services of two indigenous contractors while all materials and labour were equally locally sourced.

Midwestern JV Annual Scholarship

The Midwestern JV scholarship award is designed to enhance human capital development and ensure the provision of quality education. It demonstrates the company’s commitment to sustaining and strengthening relationships with host communities and Delta State by investing in the future of local youth.
By prioritizing education through infrastructure development and scholarship programs, Midwestern Oil and Gas is actively working to create opportunities for young people to develop their talents and make positive contributions to society.
