In line with its commitment to contribute to the economic development of its host communities via improved access to education amongst other things, the company constructed the school using the services of two indigenous contractors while all materials and labour were equally locally sourced.

From inception, the Midwestern JV has offered full academic scholarships to children of the host community and Delta State as a whole. The students are drawn from various secondary & higher institutions following the successful vetting of their past academic records and their performance at the Scholarship Selection Exam.

Designed to enhance human capital development as well as ensure the provision of qualitative education for the Host Communities and Delta State in general, the Midwestern JV scholarship award is a testimony of the company’s commitment to sustaining and strengthening the relationship with the Host Communities and Delta State.

The award covers tuition fees and living expenses for deserving University and Secondary School students, and it is renewed annually for students who maintain a high level of academic excellence and also creates opportunities for the youths to make a career choice and focus more on developing their talents towards a good living.
