Midwestern Oil & Gas Company Limited joined the global community in commemorating World Environment Day 2026 through a community clean-up exercise, environmental awareness campaign, and donation of recycling bins to the popular Eke Market in Kwale, Delta State.
The initiative formed part of activities organized to support this year’s theme, “Urbanization and Climate Change: Building Resilient Cities for a Sustainable Future,” while reinforcing the Company’s commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable community development.

The exercise brought together Midwestern employees, interns, and some members of the host community, who worked collaboratively to clean the market environment and promote responsible waste management practices among traders and visitors.
As part of the engagement, recycling bins were donated to the market leadership to encourage proper waste disposal and foster a cleaner, healthier environment. Environmental awareness sessions were also conducted to educate traders on the importance of environmental responsibility, and the role individuals can play in maintaining sustainable communities.

The participation of Midwestern interns alongside employees and community members reflected the Company’s commitment to advancing a culture of environmental consciousness across generations.
Midwestern remains committed to implementing initiatives that contribute to environmental protection, community well-being, and the creation of resilient communities capable of meeting future environmental challenges.
