Infrastructure Development

Commissioning of 500M Emmanuel Ogbeh Street in Umusadege Community

As part of our commitment to infrastructure development, Midwestern/SunTrust JV successfully commissioned the 500-meter Emmanuel Ogbeh Street in Umusadege Community. This project, which includes two side drainages, was undertaken to improve transportation access, enhance road safety, and mitigate flooding issues in the community.

Prior to the project, residents faced significant challenges due to poor road conditions, which affected mobility, local businesses, and overall economic activities. With the completion of the road, transportation has become smoother, allowing for better connectivity between residential areas and commercial centres. The side drainage system helps to prevent waterlogging and erosion, which had previously been a recurring issue during the rainy season.

The commissioning of Emmanuel Ogbeh Street stands as a testament to Midwestern’s dedication to fostering sustainable development in its host communities. By investing in critical infrastructure, the company not only enhances the quality of life for residents but also supports local businesses and facilitates economic growth.

Rehabilitation of Obi-Ogwa Hall in Ogbeani Community

Midwestern also commissioned the rehabilitation of the Obi-Ogwa Hall in Ogbeani Community, which had long been a vital communal gathering place. The renovation of the hall was essential to provide the community with a conducive environment for meetings, cultural events, and social gatherings.

The rehabilitation included structural repairs, painting, and the installation of modern amenities to enhance the functionality of the hall. This initiative was part of Midwestern’s ongoing efforts to improve the social infrastructure in its host communities, promoting unity, communication, and cultural preservation. The renovated Obi-Ogwa Hall serves as a vital space for fostering community cohesion and development.

Construction of 1.55KM Okolie Road in Umusam Community

In addition to these projects, Midwestern also commissioned the construction of a 1.55KM road in Umusam, a vital infrastructure development aimed at improving access to the community.

The new road, which now features a durable surface, significantly enhances mobility for residents, improves access to key services, and promotes economic activity by facilitating the transportation of goods and services. This project is expected to boost local commerce, reduce travel time, and improve connectivity to neighbouring communities.
