Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Midwestern Oil & Gas Company Limited

Elozino Olaniyan is a seasoned engineer and business leader with over three decades of experience spanning the entire hydrocarbon value chain, from technical and commercial operations to safety, environment, and strategic leadership. She has been appointed as the first female Chief Executive Officer of Midwestern Oil & Gas Company Limited, a leading indigenous independent energy company in Nigeria, with effect from December 1, 2025.

Before joining Midwestern, Elozino held several senior positions at Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited, where she most recently served as General Manager, Safety and Environment. In that role, she led the company’s drive toward achieving “Goal Zero” in safety performance and was instrumental in delivering the company’s OGMP targets, including leading several emission reduction initiatives. Under her leadership, Renaissance Africa Energy’s producing assets recorded significant improvements in process safety, asset integrity, and environmental stewardship.

Earlier in her career, she oversaw Shell Nigeria’s onshore commercial portfolio, achieving more than $500 million in annual revenue and introducing innovative approaches to the monetization of crude handling services agreements and also creating value from the gas to power business (Afam VI). She played a key role in addressing the complexities within the domestic gas business landscape, structured and negotiated strategic gas agreements, and delivered ca.20% increase in domestic gas supply, thereby making significant contributions to the Nigerian energy sector.. She has also led deepwater planning portfolios valued at over $12 billion, and championed production optimization initiatives that delivered sustained hydrocarbon output across Shell Nigeria’s assets.

Elozino is widely recognized for her transformational leadership style, performance focus, and ability to inspire teams toward operational excellence and sustainable value creation. Her work reflects a deep commitment to governance reform, local content development, and Nigeria’s energy transition goals.

A graduate of the University of Benin with a degree in Chemical Engineering, she is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers (NSChE), and the Nigerian Institute of Safety Engineers. She has also completed the MBA Essentials Programme of the London School of Economics.

Elozino is passionate about people development, her focus is mentoring and developing the next generation of engineers and leaders, particularly women in energy and STEM fields.
